Ok, to begin, I should tell you that my friend Teresa Soule is the resident blogger for Garden Shoes Online. She and I are members of a group of area bloggers who meet every month to share info on blogging, and a whole lot more, including occasional field trips to area plant nurseries and gardens. Her company even hosted us for lunch a couple years ago, and gave us a tour of their facility, which was really fun. I should probably also mention that I’m already a devoted customer, as they are my go-to for some of my favorite gardening products, like these gloves and Green Cure which is instrumental in our efforts to prevent late blight which is so bad in our valley.
Last month Teresa asked me to review Xtratuf shoes, and I am really glad that I said yes, because I LOVE them! They come in a bunch of different styles for men and women – deck shoes, slip-ons, boots, and the ones I chose – Daily Shoes. I actually ended up getting a men’s pair, because I liked the dark brown color.I love how they have held up, and believe me – I gave them quite a workout! We are out in the yard and garden every day this time of year, so this pair of shoes has been right out in the dirt and mud – I didn’t take it easy on them at all. They still look brand new!
They are also very light and comfortable, which is a must for me. My preference is to wear no shoes at all, or maybe some sandals or flip flops. Sandals and flip flops are not really safe when you are running the mower, or using sharp-edged tools, so I have to find shoes I can stand to have on my feet for a long day and these definitely meet that need. The soles are very grippy, so you aren’t going to be sliding around on slippery surfaces. If they get dirty, you can rinse them off, and then just give them a little brushing when they are dry and the water resistant leather comes back looking like a million bucks. As part of my review of Xtratuf shoes, the kind folks at GardenShoesOnline.com are offering one of my readers a chance to win a $25 gift certificate. This will be good towards the purchase of anything you want to order on their site – and I strongly recommend that you go check out their many products that make life easier for gardeners.
