Wash the apple and cut into quarters, remove the core. Peel the ginger and cut into coins.
Place the apple, ginger and remaining ingredients in a high speed blender or smoothie maker, and process until very smooth. You can add ice to the blender, which will make your smoothie thicker, or just add to the glass when serving.
Serve immediately. Leftovers should be refrigerated, but it is best to drink a smoothie right away to get the best use of the nutrients.
Notes
I use whole milk in this smoothie, because most of the nutrition in milk is fat soluble. Low or non-fat is not very nutritious at all - empty calories basically.
